From scholar to mentor, Giantte's story about giving back
Because of donors like YOU, Giantte Chambers received a Big Shoulders Fund JCB Family Scholarship that helped him attend a Big Shoulders Fund Plus school, where he was valedictorian of his class. He was thrilled to learn that, like many Big Shoulders Fund scholarships, this one would continue with him through high school, opening the door for him to attend his dream school.
In high school, he continued to flourish and discovered his passion for computer science, which he pursued at Eastern Michigan University. Big Shoulders Fund was there for him then, too, through the Big Shoulders Fund Greer STEM Scholarship.Â
Now, Giantte is back in Chicago as a software engineer, and back with Big Shoulders Fund to ensure that another generation of scholars has access to the bright future they deserve.Â

He serves on the executive committee of the Auxiliary Board at Big Shoulders Fund and is an active member of our community as a mentor in our network of schools and regularly volunteers at our Give Back Days and food distribution events. He is eager to recruit more Big Shoulders Fund alumni to give back to the organization that helps so many.Â
